Refund and Cancellation Policy
Day camp registration payments reserve your child's (ren's) space at the day camp.
Once you have reserved your child's spot at the day camp, be aware of the following cancellation policies:
- If you cancel between 21 and 60 days before the start date of camp, a cancellation fee of 25% of your deposit will be applied. The deposit, which is 25% of the total day camp fee of $85.00, results in a cancellation fee of $21.25, along with any applicable administration and hot lunch fees.
- If you cancel with less than 21 days' notice before the start date of camp, you will incur a cancellation fee of 75% of your deposit. This means you will forfeit $63.75 of the $85.00 deposit, in addition to any related administration and hot lunch fees.
- If you cancel less than 7 days before the start date of camp, you will not receive a refund of the day camp registration fee.
Make sure you understand these terms when reserving your child's spot.
Yogi Bear Campground Staff enforces a strict Zero-Tolerance Policy regarding all forms of verbal or physical abuse towards colleagues or campers. If a day camper exhibits inappropriate behaviour, we will require immediate pickup. Based on the severity of the behaviour, we will make a definitive decision on the camper's eligibility to return. No refunds will be provided under any circumstances.

Guidelines for Day Campers:
All Day Campers must arrive at the campground fully prepared each day. This means they are required to bring a backpack with all items clearly labelled with their name. In this backpack, campers must include the following essentials: a raincoat, hat, swimsuit, towel, water bottle, sunscreen, bug spray, and a change of clothes.
Campers are also required to wear closed-toed shoes with socks, along with flip-flops or sandals, every day.
Furthermore, Day Campers must bring their lunch and two snacks daily. They should pack lunches in lunch boxes labelled with their name so that the staff can properly store them in the fridge.
We acknowledge that some campers need "ME" time during the day. If they wish to participate in independent activities, such as reading a book or working on something from home, you are welcome to send those items to camp. However, it is essential to note that no electronics or phones should be brought to camp as they are valuable and can easily be lost.
Your Day Campers will engage in exciting activities throughout the week, such as hikes, campfires, hay wagon rides, and waterslides. However, swimming in the pool is strictly prohibited during day camp hours for safety reasons. You must communicate this rule to your child and ensure they fully understand its importance.
The staff at Yogi Bear Campground strictly enforces a zero-tolerance policy for any verbal or physical abuse towards fellow staff or campers. If camper behaviour becomes an issue at any time during the day, we will require immediate pickup of the camper. Depending on the severity of the behaviour, we will decide if the camper will be permitted to return. Please be aware that no refunds will be issued under these circumstances.
Guidelines for Parents
- To confirm your registration for the day camper, you must pay the 50% ($85.00) deposit fee within 7 days. Ensure this payment is made promptly to secure your spot.
- If you need to reach the campground staff during the day, call the office at 902-765-2830. Please note that the campground can get busy, so if you don’t get through, leave a message. Rest assured, we will promptly relay your message to the day camp staff.
- Our day camp has a staff-to-child ratio of 1:15 and is specifically designed for children ages 5 to 10. We also accept campers aged four and up to 12. It is important to note that all registrations for children under four must be made directly with the campground's general manager. For inquiries, please email generalmanager@jellystonens.com.
- The Yogi Bear Campground Staff enforces a strict zero-tolerance policy against verbal or physical abuse toward staff or campers. If issues arise concerning the behaviour of day campers or their parents, we will take decisive action based on the severity of the situation. Be aware that a camper’s future participation may be revoked, and no refunds will be granted under any circumstances.
- Day camp registration includes a family visitor pass. This pass provides your family with access to the campground, allowing you to utilize the swimming pool (with parental supervision) and all other amenities available during the week and weekend of your child's day camp.
- To obtain your day pass, you must check in at the ranger station upon your arrival at the campground outside of day camp hours. The ranger station staff will verify your ID and require you to complete the campground waiver. Completing this step is crucial for your family to take full advantage of the campground’s amenities.
- When packing lunch for day campers, remember that they get hungry. Therefore, ensure you pack a substantial lunch and at least two snacks each day.
- We offer a hot lunch on Fridays for an additional fee. This lunch varies from week to week and is optional for campers. All payments for hot lunches must be made during your child's registration. Even if your child opts for a hot lunch, they are still required to bring their two snacks for that day. Pack extra to keep them satisfied—it's essential!
- Please do not send money with your children to the day camp. It can be challenging when some children have money for additional activities, and others do not. We do provide arcade access throughout the weekly schedule for a small amount of time to our day campers. This time is usually provided on bad weather days, and the counsellors monitor it.
Guidelines for (Pick-Up / Drop-Off)
An authorized parent or guardian must sign in to drop off and pick up children from day camp. This can be done through your day camp counsellor or at the Ranger Station.
Camp operates from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with activities scheduled from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM each day.
It is your responsibility to pick up your camper by 5:00 PM. Be aware that a late pick-up fee of $15 per camper will be enforced for every 15 minutes after 5:00 PM. This fee must be settled at the office by the end of the week.
Camp Hours | Activity Hours | Pick-Up Deadline | Late Pick-Up Fee | Fee Enforcement |
8:00 AM to 5:00 PM | 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM | 5:00 PM | $10 per camper for every 15 minutes after 5:00 PM | Settled at the office by the end of the week |
Failure to pay the late pick-up fee will result in your child being prohibited from attending any future day camps.
